Clothing to protect against static risks
This standard specifies the material and design requirements for protection in potentially explosive atmospheres. Electrostatic dissipative protective clothing reduces the risk of explosion thanks to its antistatic properties, and it must be part of a complete earthing system. The resistance between the person and the earth must be less than 10^8 Ω. Suitable protective shoes and gloves must be added to complete the system.
Heat protection must be built in to protect against the thermal effects of an explosion.
Please note:
This standard does not apply to protection against high voltages.
