How does Elis create a collection of women's or men's workwear?
Développement de nos collections de vêtements professionnels
At Elis, we have a team of professionals that develops our collections, from identifying needs to the final production phase, meaning our workwear has a unique quality.
Below you will see how Elis ensures that our workwear is both high quality and well made for maximum comfort. We are a company that designs responsible products to maximise their lifespan.

Step 6: Launch the collection
Step 1: Analysis of trends and needs
In our line of work, we focus on our customers' needs. Elis analysts help our marketing department conduct market research, collect feedback from our sales representatives in the field, support our key accounts and compile the statistics from our quality department, giving us everything we need to start the project.
All the while, our product managers and our style team are looking for new materials. All materials are tested to ensure their endurance and compliance with EU standards.
Step 2: Design of our new models
At Elis, we are fortunate to have an integrated technical team. Within this team, our stylists get the most out of their inspiration to create new models with modern fits and an innovative design.
Drawing from Mediterranean and Nordic sources, our designers bring complementary visions to their sketches, which bring our new collections to life.
Step 3: Prototypes
Our technical team gets to work again. This time, our pattern-makers, modellers and fashion designers come together to develop the first prototype.
To streamline the workflow, this stage takes place directly on our premises, where we have a sample room that is fully equipped with sewing machines, mannequins, fabric cutting tools etc.
There is plenty of back and forth as we test out the prototypes, develop each item of clothing, make sure that each garment is well suited and design easy-to-repair clothing by providing easy-to-replace accessories, for example.
Step 4: Testing
Another feature of our workwear activity is the testing, which is essential when working in rental, laundry and maintenance. Testing is key to Elis' customer-centric approach, and it also has a part to play in our clothing's responsible design. We test the robustness of the fabric, accessories and stitching, but also garments' resilience to being washed…up to 50 times!
Practical tests are then carried out at our customers' sites to check the garments are comfortable and ergonomic, and that their features stand up to a real working environment.
Etape 5 : Production
Step 6: Launch of the collection
In the meantime, teams are working on aspects of the launch. The collection needs a name, new models need to be photographed, our sales staff need internal training and the rollout to our existing and prospective customers needs to be planned. Digital brochures, films, digital apps, catalogue updates, newsletters, website updates…we use all our communication tools to promote our new collection!
