Professional linen care concerns everyone
Help us to help you
If your establishment’s laundry is rented, look after it and hand it over to us so we can maintain it and have it back with you as soon as possible.
Lost, misused or discarded linen can lead to depleted stock levels and higher rental costs, which would be detrimental to both you and your patients.
We have worked with our customers to reduce the number of missing or damaged items, ensuring that you receive the right amounts of the best-quality products while minimising the carbon impact of our service.

Getting the most out of linen
We work to keep products in use for as long as possible – not only through optimised and tailored maintenance of linen, but also by redeploying, repairing and reusing it. For example, in 2023 more than 230,000 items were shared between plants on our linen market in France, Spain and the United Kingdom.
Our sector-specialist plants maintain textiles with washing programmes tailored to each category of item to ensure their longevity. They are inspected and repaired if necessary.

Our items are delivered in reusable bags or covered trolleys*
*depending on the plants.
Best practices for linen use
Do:
- Put all used bed, bath and healthcare linen in the Elis bags provided.
- Make sure that the bags are securely closed.
- Take care of the items.
Don't:
- Discard linen, whatever its condition: Our industrial treatment process is suitable for washing any type of linen, even if it is heavily soiled.
- Give linen away: The linen provided is rented and does not belong to your establishment. Patients and staff must not take Elis linen away with them.
- Misuse the linen: Our products are designed to be used by patients during their stay; they should not be used to soak up leaks or prop doors open.
- Hoard surplus linen: Your daily requirement is designed for your department’s needs; linen should be in the linen cupboard, on trolleys or on beds.
- Take linen home: Professional maintenance guarantees optimal service and protects you against contamination that might occur if you were to wash the linen with your clothes at home.
