Fleas are crawling insects with incomplete metamorphosis. They live in the fibers of rugs, carpets, kennels, on humans, and in the hair or/ featherof pets . They move by jumping and can make vouchers 30 cm high.

They feed on the blood of their carriers by biting them. A female flea consumes 15 times her weight in blood each day. In the absence of food, the flea can fast for almost a year.

> Size: 1 to 4 mm; color: dark brown or reddish brown; life span: 6 to 12 months.
> Places of contamination: furs, feathers, bedding, carpets, and rugs.
> Lifestyle: Lives in warm and humid areas.

> Reproduction: up to 400 eggs in a lifetime; 4 to 8 eggs laid after each meal.
