Accelerating our transition to alternative energy vehicles
In 2021, Elis' fleet was made up of 521 alternative vehicles.
To affirm our position in terms of sustainable mobility, we’ve significantly increased the number of eco-friendly vehicles while seeking to reduce the fuel consumption of combustion engine vehicles.
To this end, we’ve improved our fleet management tools, continued to promote eco-driving, started the roll-out of GLAD and maximised the fill rate of our trucks.
Meet Antoine Gautier, Logistics Director in charge of the Elis fleet
> What is the plan for this energy transition?
As part of a plan to reduce the environmental impact of our vehicles and in line withour CSR objectives for 2025, our aim is to make the transition to more sustainable mobility with a large-scale roll-out.
> Can you tell us about the roll-out at the French sites?
To date, we’ve equipped the Lille, Décines, Trappes and Le Mans sites with electric charging stations. Work is under way at the Nîmes, Pantin and Brétigny sites and some forty other sites are in preparation. In 2022, our electric vehicles will be highly visible around Paris, with six electric trucks rolled out in West Paris, two in Poulard and two in Pantin.. In addition, Clermont-Ferrand will be the first provincial site to deliver using electric trucks.
Thus, all vehicles combined, nearly 120 additional electric vehicles should be delivered in France in 2022. This transition is accompanied by a specific investment plan to equip our sites with charging stations. The perception among our employees and customers is very positive.
> What are the next steps?
Gather feedback in the most advanced countries on this transition (France, Sweden and the Netherlands) to define a group strategy in line with the Climate Strategy – Science Based Target.
Structural decisions have been taken since the beginning of 2021 to eliminate diesel vehicles and promote electric vehicles. In France, each time a sales force vehicle is renewed, an analysis is carried out to validate the interest of an electric engine and, if not, an unleaded engine is proposed.
