Limit your environmental footprint for cleanroom cleaning

Compare the reusable cleanroom mop solution with single-use alternatives to lower your environmental impact.

By choosing reusable mops, you can save in one year:

The results include the full life cycle from raw material to end of life, including the washing process for the reusable solution and come from an ISO 14040 and 14044 LCA that went through a third-party review.
Carbon footprint (kg CO2e) Contribution to climate change due to greenhouse gas emissions (CO2, methane...).
0 km by car
Water consumption (L) Potential of water deprivation
0 showers
Waste (kg) Waste generation at the end of life.
0 single mops
Fossil energy use (kWh) Consumption of fossil energy
0 days of heating

Find out more about the results

The figures come from the comparative LCA "Clean 1 square meter of floor with a mop" done in 2025. The LCA went through a critical review process in line with ISO 14071 requirements. Peer board was LCA and cleanroom experts.

Main assumptions:

  • Reusable mops and wipes are washed in an industrial laundry to be reused
  • Single use mops and wipes are only used once
  • Number of days per year is conservative: 47 weeks per year, 5 days per week

Methodology:  ISO 14040, 14044,  Environmental Footprint 3.1 method
Database: Ecoinvent 3.10, PEFCR 3.1, ADEME and Elis specific data.

More than 80% of the Group turnover is based on the product as service business model.

The LCA

Elis carried out a comparative Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) covering the full life cycle of cleaning a cleanroom with a mop including mop production, washing, delivery and end of life. The use at the client cleanrooms is excluded (water, detergent...).

The LCA compared reusable to single-use mops.
