Elis wins the Hope trophy in the large company category at the Circular Fashion Awards

We are very proud to have won the Hope trophy in the large company category of this second edition of the European Circular Fashion Awards for our “Workwear to Workwear” project.

We are very proud to have won the Hope trophy in the large company category of this second edition of the European Circular Fashion Awards for our “Workwear to Workwear” project.

Elis had been chosen as one of 15 finalists out of more than 200 entries. On Friday 18, the Elis marketing team presented our project to the jury and was awarded the prize at the awards ceremony!

Thank you to the voters and the jury for supporting our  Workwear to Workwear project: a workwear recycling project through which garments are designed and made to last, limiting their impact on natural resources through reuse, repair and recycling.

From 17 October to 16 November, you could vote for your favourite of the 15 European Circular Fashion Awards finalists.

The public was given a say in this competition with the chance to vote for their favourite project. The final result for each award was made up of the jury’s rating (50%) and the public’s vote (50%).

A few words from our colleagues:

Sophie Roussel, Elis Workwear Project Manager and Justine Laplaud, Elis Workwear Project Manager, discuss this great adventure:

Sophie: “I am delighted and incredibly proud that we have won this trophy because it is a project that is close to our hearts. It is the result of teamwork, both internally and with our partners, and proves that the project is in line with all current challenges.”

Justine: “I am also very pleased that we were selected in our category. A big thank you to all the members of the jury and everyone who voted for our project.”

Workwear to Workwear

Because our business model is circular, our clothes must be designed and made to last, which is why we take good care of our rentable products.

We are constantly looking for ways to relieve pressure on natural resources by repairing, reusing or recycling our products.

Our goal is to progress towards becoming part of a circular textile sector, which we aim to do by anticipating requirements at all stages of creation and production.

  • Our designers are working on eco-designed collections, which aim to limit energy consumption during production and which allow end-of-life clothes to be easily repaired, upcycled or recycled.

  • We are increasingly using more responsible materials to reduce the environmental impact of our clothes, and we are working with our suppliers to minimise fabric waste at source during production.

As part of this project we designed a “zero waste” apronno fabric is thrown away during production and it is made from 100% recycled fabric!

We worked in partnership with fibre manufacturers to experiment with how we can recycle used clothing into new clothing. During this recycling process, several important steps are required to produce a new fabric of satisfactory quality to make new, hard-wearing clothing for the workplace.
